Do I need my own server infrastructure?

Not necessarily. Storm runs on bare metal, your private cloud, public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, Hetzner), or any hybrid combination. If you don't have infrastructure yet, we'll help you design and deploy it - on-premise, cloud, or hybrid - based on your scale, budget, and compliance needs.

What hardware does Storm run on?

Anything from a Raspberry Pi to enterprise servers. A single mid-range Linux server handles thousands of concurrent viewers. For larger deployments, scale horizontally by adding cluster nodes. Same software, same control panel - whether you're running one node or fifty.

How long does deployment take?

Minutes for a local install, hours for a single production server, days for a full cluster. Storm ships with native installers for Windows, macOS, and Linux -click through the wizard and you're streaming in seconds. For production, deploy our Docker image to any infrastructure that runs containers. Cluster deployments take longer and include architecture consulting from our team — included in every license.

Do I need a streaming engineer to run Storm?

No. The control panel handles day-to-day operations - adding streams, configuring transcoding, monitoring viewers. For initial setup, scaling decisions, and integration work, our engineering team consults directly with yours.

How does licensing work?

Each Storm node requires a license. Start with one license to run a basic cluster - two licenses unlock full redundancy. Scale up by adding licenses as your traffic grows. Every license includes the software, all updates and patches, and access to our support system.
